The Panzer III was the primary medium tank used by the German Army during the first half of World War Two.  Several thousand Panzer IIIs were built, and the chassis was adapted for many other vehicles including the Sturmgeschutz III.  It was Germany’s second most produced tank of the war next to the Panzer IV, and saw action in every theater in which the Germans fought.  Depicted here is an Ausf H variant serving the North African desert in the spring of 1941.
