3. Dornier Do 17
Germany - 1934

The Dornier 17 was famous for being one of the three main bombers in the Luftwaffe inventory early in World War 2, the other two being the He 111 and the Ju 88.  Its ability to carry out low level high speed attacks made it a tough nut for the RAF to crack.  After the Battle of Britain it was gradually replaced by the Ju 88 however.  Shown here is a Do 17Z-2 from 7/KG3 based in France in August 1940.
